This n That
The kids and i have been really busy lately. I can't remember everything we've been up to, but here's a few. first off, pics of the kids getting ready to go to church on Easter. i know K's picture is a little blurry, but it's my favorite. :o)
This last Wednesday C's preschool had a field trip to one of the nearby kindergartens. With K at my friend's house, C and i were ready to explore the "unknown" if you will. The second we walked through the doors, i wanted to cry. it made it so real. My baby, my 1st born, was going to kindergarten. There were hallways going every which way, lockers, tons of classrooms, older kids, a cafeteria and gym and the less than pleasant smell of the boys' bathroom. yup, we were definitely not in preschool anymore! :o( But, C was excited and enjoyed seeing what the older kids get to do in school. The school we were in is actually so old that there are fireplaces in every classroom. that was kind of neat to see. you definitely don't see that on the west coast! The only thing C is a little nervous/upset about is because of his allergies, he has to sit at a special table in the cafeteria and his friends can ONLY sit with him if they don't have ANYTHING in their lunches that could possibly contain anything to do with his allergies. I assured him he won't be the only one at that table!
That night we went to the Rainforest Cafe with friends. i really wanted a "volcano". it was good! K LOVED the gorillas! we were put next to the fountain, so EVERY time the gorillas made noise i had to pick her up and RUN (literally) over to the gorillas. She would scream and laugh and imitate the gorillas. She loved them SO much, she was shaking every time we got to see them move. it was SO funny! Now, just to give you a better idea of how often we had to get up and run, the gorillas moved about every 10min. We were there for almost 2 hours. Every time they started moving, the people around us would laugh and say "there she goes again!" haha!
The next day we went to Mystic Aquarium with another of C's friends and his mom. (did i mention my hubby was out of town this whole week? we were trying to keep busy) Anywho, the kids loved the aquarium. C's favorite were the sharks. they weren't big ones, but he still liked them. K loved the turtle! They had one turtle there that could only use her front flippers because her back flippers were covered in barnacles at one point and because of that, had been hit by a boat's propeller. The turtle stayed right by K the whole time. if K moved, the turtle would move with her. it was kinda cool. My favorite was the sea lion show. they had a 950lb sea lion that did some neat tricks.

one last thing, K's decided to she wants to try potty training. Yes, K decided. I haven't been pushing it, but she's been doing great! she's been wearing underwear since yesterday. she only gets a diaper for nap and bedtime. well, and the mall yesterday. i wasn't gonna run across the mall in hopes of reaching a toilet before she had an accident! :o) My kids are growing up!
